ECoR breakthrough in track doubling

Visakhapatnam: A significant milestone has been reached in the Koraput-Singapur Road doubling project with the successful breakthrough of Tunnel No. 35. The tunnel, measuring 630 meters in length and located between Sikarpai (SKPI) and Keutguda (KTGA) stations in the Waltair Division, has been completed with 100 per cent alignment matching. The tunnel, constructed on a 5-degree curve in a horseshoe shape, extends from chainage Km 148.12 to Km 148.75. The construction falls under the jurisdiction of the Chief Engineer, Construction-II, Visakhapatnam. Engineering officials from the Waltair Division were present at the site to witness this important achievement. This accomplishment marks a crucial step forward in enhancing rail connectivity and capacity augmentation on the Koraput-Singapur Road section. The breakthrough in Tunnel No. 35 highlights the commitment of East Coast Railway to advance infrastructure development with precision and quality standards.
